Ingredients of Malvani chicken

- You need 300 gm of boneless chicken.
- You need 2 teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
- Prepare 2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- You need 2 tsp of Coriander powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of jeera(cumin) powder.
- It's to taste of Salt.
- You need 2 tbsp of Butter.
- You need of For Malvani paste.
- Prepare 3 tbsp of oil.
- You need 2 of small Onions Chopped finely.
- Prepare 1/2 of Nutmeg.
- You need 10 of garlic cloves roughly chopped.
- It's 1 inch of ginger chopped roughly.
- You need 5 of Black peppercorn.
- You need 1 inch of stick Cinnamon.
- It's 4 of Green elaichi(Cardamom).
- You need 6-7 of Black cloves.
- It's 2 tsp of Ghee (optional).
- You need 2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- You need 3 tsp of Coriander seeds.
- It's 3 tsp of Sesame seeds.
- You need 1 cup of Dessicated coconut.
- You need of For curry.
- It's 2 of Bayleaf.
- You need 2 of small Onions Chopped finely.
- Prepare 3 of small Tomatoes Chopped finely.
- It's 3 of long green chillies Make slits in the middle.
- It's 3 tbsp of Oil.
- You need 1 tsp of Ghee.
- It's To taste of Salt.

- You need As needed of dessicated coconut.
- Prepare 2 tsp of Chopped coriander leaves.
- It's 1/2 of lemon.
It's prepared using lots of fresh coconut which is easily available in Konkan area. An excellent and delicious Malvani Chicken dish made with authentic. Add malvani masala, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Cook this masala on a slow flame and then add the ground masala paste and saute it then add little water and mix well.
Malvani chicken instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet. Add ghee (optional) Add one half of chopped onions and roast on medium flame for 7-10 mins (NOT burnt or caramelised translucent) Stir occasionally.
- Add dessicated coconut and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, elachi, peppercorn, cumin, coriander and sesame seeds) and stir continuously. Prevent coconut from sticking to surfaces; keep stirring till mix turns brown. Keep flame on medium high. Add little ghee/ oil if needed. This process will take about 5-7 mins.
- Once dry roasted and browned, set aside to cool. Once cooled, blend this to make a fine paste. Set aside..
- In same skillet, heat oil. Add ghee if preferred. Add green chillies, bay leaf and saute for couple of minutes on low-medium flame..
- Add other half of onion and saute till translucent/ slightly browned. Add tomato to this and mix on medium-high flame. Stir continuously to ensure tomato does NOT releases juices and cook in it, but turns brown (5-7 minutes).
- After this, Malvani paste and mix. Add in the marinated chicken and stir gently. Add salt, chilli powder/ garam masala/ pepper to taste/ water depending on preferred thickness of gravy. Add 2-3 tbsp of water. Close lid and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally..

- If using mutton, or chicken with bones, cook the curry in a pressure cooker. Add the gravy with the meat in a cooker. Close lit with whistle and wait for 1 whistle. Cook on low for 20 minutes in cooker. Let it cool completely before taking off the lid..
